ICW and YWCA unite to Lead Change

ICW is delighted to participate in the YWCA World Council International Women's Summit in Brisbane in July 2003. This meeting takes place every four years and brings together over 1000 women from over 120 countries.

The theme of this year's summit is "Leading Change - the power to act" One of the four key themes to be covered at the summit is HIV. ICW has been working with UNAIDS and YWCA to make a film about the situation of women and HIV in the world, which will be shown at the summit. Some of ICW's trustees and staff appear in the film and will also be making presentations at the summit.

The World YWCA has expressed its willingness to form an alliance with ICW to promote solidarity with HIV positive women around the world and to support our visions and needs. We at ICW warmly welcome this alliance and we hope that our involvement in this YWCA summit will be the first of many opportunities for mutual support and collaboration."
