ICW Latina – Present in the creation of a Latinamerican Network of First Ladies and Women Leaders in HIV/AIDS
In New York today, and within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS (UNGASS), first ladies, women working in the public sector and taking decisions on behalf on governments in the areas of health and in different international organisms, and Patricia Pérez (Regional secretary of ICW Latina) as the only representative from civil society organizations in Latinamerica, will meet to discuss the creation of a NETWORK OF FIRST LADIES AND WOMEN LEADERS FROM LATINAMERICA ON WOMEN AND AIDS. For the first time, within this context, women at the highest level of social advocacy and politics from the region confront from a gender perspective and give visibility to the issue of women and aids, as they face the undeniable feminization of the epidemic. Patricia Pérez takes part in this meeting of the main actors in the fight against aids, invited, once more, by the United Nations. In this manner, she is part of the official delegation from Argentina which is lead by the Minister of Health Ginés Gonzáles García.

ICW LATINA, PRESENTE EN LA CREACION
DE UNA RED LATINOAMERICANA DE PRIMERAS DAMAS Y MUJERES LIDERES EN VIH/SIDA
Este jueves 01 de junio, en el marco de la Asamblea Extraordinaria de las Naciones Unidas que se realiza en Nueva York (UNGASS, General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS), primeras damas, mujeres funcionarias que toman decisiones en el área de salud de los gobiernos y en diferentes organismos internacionales y Patricia Pérez (Secretaria Regional de ICW Latina), como única representante de organizaciones de la sociedad civil latinoamericana, se reúnen para discutir la formación de una RED DE PRIMERAS DAMAS Y MUJERES LIDERES DE AMERICA LATINA SOBRE MUJERES Y SIDA.
Por primera vez, en este contexto, mujeres de la más alta incidencia social y política de la región abordan desde la perspectiva de género y le otorgan visibilidad a la problemática mujer-sida, frente a la innegable feminización de la pandemia. Patricia Pérez participa de esta reunión con los principales actores de la lucha contra el sida invitada, una vez más, por Naciones Unidas. De esta forma, se suma a la delegación oficial argentina encabezada por el Ministro de Salud Ginés Gonzáles García.
